Pages are required to perform various tasks for MPPs when Parliament is in session. Some of their duties include delivering messages for MPPs, getting them water and delivering Parliamentary information and documents.
The basic qualifications for becoming a Legislative Page are:
- Grade 7 or 8 student
- Actively involved in a variety of extra-curricular activities
- Minimum scholastic average of 80 per cent or Level 4
- The consent of the applicant’s school Principal
Please note that the Page Programme is a non-partisan initiative of the Ontario Legislature and therefore Jim is not able to provide constiutents with references, although he strongly encourages those who qualify to apply.
