McGuinty Must Take Responsibility for Eco-tax Disaster |
(July 16, 2010) What a complete disaster the eco-tax has turned out to be. If you were away last week and missed it, I’m referring to the sneaky new tax that Dalton McGuinty implemented on more than 9,000 consumer products on Canada Day. Let’s review how this disaster unfolded.
For me it all started when a hardware store owner called my office to let me know that he was being forced into placing a 100% tax on the price of a bag of concrete. I had to hear it from a small business owner because the McGuinty government didn’t tell anyone about the eco-tax.

Wilson: PCs Will Scrap 'Eco Taxes' |
(July 13, 2010) Simcoe-Grey MPP Jim Wilson reiterated the commitment made this morning by Ontario PC Leader Tim Hudak that if Dalton McGuinty won't scrap the 'eco tax' program then a Tim Hudak Progressive Conservative government will.
"We all care about the environment, but Dalton McGuinty's so-called green policies are nothing more than a tax grab," said Wilson. "The only 'green' he cares about is the green in your wallet."

Eco Taxes: The Latest McGuinty Tax Grab |
(Queen's Park Report - July 9, 2010) Dalton McGuinty is really sneaky. On Canada Day the Liberal government imposed a new tax on over 5,000 consumer goods, and I’m not even talking about the $3 billion HST tax grab. I’m referring to the new ‘eco taxes’ that the Ontario Liberals applied to a host of products without notice.

"Dalton McGuinty has made it so that every baby born in Ontario will

debt"
(Queen's Park Report - April 1, 2010) There is an enormous problem when a government racks up gigantic deficits and debts. The impacts of such measures are such that every Ontarian who cares about better hospitals, safer communities, stronger infrastructure, enhanced education and job creation should be genuinely concerned. Those who argue that deficit spending is necessary to uphold these public services are sorely mistaken.

Tim Hudak has a Better Plan than McGuinty's 'Enron Budget' |
(March 25, 2010) Simcoe-Grey MPP Jim Wilson says Tim Hudak and the P.C. Caucus have a better plan for Ontario than the one Dalton McGuinty introduced today in his 2010 'Enron Budget.'
"The first thing Tim Hudak would have done was roll back the fat severance packages that Dalton McGuinty is dishing out to provincial tax collectors," said Wilson, who was commenting on the Liberal decision to award up to $45,000 in severance pay to 1,250 tax collectors who aren't even losing their jobs.
