Pay More Get Less(Queen's Park Report - September 3, 2010) I am convinced that Dalton McGuinty has become so comfortable in his job that he has lost all concept of how his taxing and spending are affecting Ontario families.  Whether its auto insurance, tuition, gasoline or electricity, we are all paying more and getting less from the McGuinty government and it hurts.

(Queen's Park Report - August 30, 2010) Here is some explosive news.  One hundred and forty three prisoners were mistakenly released from Ontario prisons.  Just as troubling is the fact that the Erie-St. Clair Local Health Integration Network (LHIN) was caught spending $10,900 of our health funds to hire Disney to speak at their lavish convention in Windsor.

(Queen's Park Report - August 23, 2010) Voters across our riding will soon go to the polls to elect the people they want to serve on their town councils.  While you won’t find me endorsing any local candidate, I believe that these campaigns matter.  It is an opportunity to place your faith in the individuals who you believe will make the best decisions for your community.  Unfortunately, the model of local government is at risk.

Beaver Cleaver and the ‘aww shucks’ moment PDF Print E-mail
(Queen's Park Report - August 3, 2010) I couldn’t help thinking of Theodore (Beaver) Cleaver this week as I watched Dalton McGuinty emerge from the shadows after a bumpy July for the Province of Ontario.  Much like the fictional character from Leave it to Beaver, Mr. McGuinty has mastered the “aww shucks” moment.

Cuts at Collingwood's G&M Hospital Cause for Concern PDF Print E-mail

LHINs (Queen's Park Report - July 24, 2010) There is troubling news coming out of Collingwood General and Marine Hospital this week.  According to media reports, the hospital is cutting 5 nursing positions, reducing elective surgeries and limiting operating room time.  This reduction in front line health care is not only concerning, it's also confusing.

Liberals Vote ‘No’ to Business Risk Management Program for Farmers PDF Print E-mail

(June 3, 2010) Liberal MPPs defeated a resolution in the Ontario Legislature today that would have pushed the McGuinty government into implementing the business risk management program that Ontario farmers have been asking for.  The resolution was tabled by Simcoe-Grey MPP Jim Wilson in reply to farmers in his constituency and Ontario’s 57,000 farm families who have been seeking government assistance.
